Pink Shirt Day

On Friday 17 May, the Guidance Committee promoted Pink Shirt Day at PNGHS to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation.

Pink Shirt Day focuses on preventing bullying through the celebration of diversity and promoting kindness. It aims to create a community where all people feel safe, valued and respected, so we encouraged everyone to participate.

The Guidance Committee ran the bake sale, photo booth and kindness card table for students to write positive messages to their friends and whanau. The Dance Committee hosted a ‘Just Dance’ in the Huia centre and the Art Committee provided a fingerpainting project, so there was something for everyone to take part in.

Our school participating in Pink Shirt Day demonstrates our commitment to promoting an inclusive and diverse environment for our school community. All students upheld our school values of social responsibility and respect by participating and supporting the cause.
