Food and Nutrition, and Hospitality Teacher Position
Full Time Fixed term beginning 3 June 2025 (to cover maternity position)
Our school is seeking an inspiring and collaborative Food Teacher to teach Junior Food Technology, Year 11 Food and Nutrition, and Year 12 Hospitality. This position is a full-time, fixed term position for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
The successful applicant needs to be a team player, familiar with the relevant curriculum and NCEA assessment requirements for Food and Nutrition and Hospitality up to senior level, and be able to inspire and engage tauira in this area. We have a well led, well resourced, collaborative and experienced Food department. We offer strong programmes based on a sustainability ethos with access to our Māra Kai (school garden) to enable deeper understanding of food provenance and plot to plate experience.
Applicants should be prepared to play an active role in the co-curricular and professional life of the school. Palmerston North Girls’ High School is the only state girls’ secondary school in the Manawatū. We have outstanding NCEA results and work within a Culturally Responsive and Relational Framework. Our staff provide high quality education with a strong focus on valued educational outcomes alongside personal development as a learner.
